SATURDAY 19th April (19:30)
The Team was contacted by North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) to provide assistance to two minors with reduced conscious levels in Eston Hills area.
The two Land Rovers and other team members headed to a location at the base of the Eston Hills. From here, a small party was sent to the assigned location to confirm this was the casualty site along with confirming the equipment requirements.
Having confirmed the location and identified the required equipment, two stretchers, two wheels and two casualty bags were sent to the site.
Fortunately, there was sufficient personnel onsite to allow simultaneous loading and evacuation of both minors on wheeled stretchers. They were wheeled 500m to the waiting ambulances
We wish them both a speedy recovery.
18 team members were involved for approx 2.5 hours
Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.
