SATURDAY 5th April (1145 hours)
The Team were contacted by North East Ambulance Service( NEAS) to provide assistance to a casualty suffering from a lower leg injury on Roseberry Topping.
The team deployed two Land Rovers to Aireyholme Farm with other members making their own way to the RV point. On arrival, personnel were transferred to the vicinity of the casualty site by Land Rover from where the required medical equipment was carried to the site.
Following treatment by a team medic in a group shelter , the casualty was placed into a casualty bag on the rescue stretcher. The wheel was applied to the stretcher and walked about 450m to a Land Rover
The casualty was transferred in a Rover back to Aireyholme Farm from where she was collected by an ambulance.
We wish the casualty a speedy recovery.
13 team members were involved for 2.5 hours
Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.
