Following last Thursday’s collection of bulk PPE supplies for Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council, our Team members have been continuing this vital voluntary work. Supporting the local community during the COVID-19 pandemic is a natural extension of our core search & rescue role, whilst we have the temporary capacity to do so.
In recent days we’ve been distributing smaller quantities of PPE to 29 nursing, care and residential homes spread throughout the council’s area. A number of our volunteer search & rescue and operations support members have been involved – using the Team vehicle plus their own cars.
Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.

Unfortunately due to the overnight rain with more forecast, today's event at Redcar Racing has been cancelled so we will not be there! Statement from the racecourse:
Unfortunately today’s Easter Monday race meeting has been abandoned.
We are bitterly disappointed that racing is not able to go ahead but there is little that can be done given the amount of recent rainfall this morning.
All pre-paid tickets will automatically be refunded, there is no need to contact the racecourse office.
