SATURDAY 15TH JANUARY 2022 (1704 HOURS)
Our first call-out of 2022 could prove to be one of the shortest of the year.
We were contacted by the North East Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust to assist at the scene of a road accident on the A173 between Great Ayton and Guisborough, where a car had reportedly left the road down an embankment. It was thought that our assistance would be necessary to recover the driver back up to the roadside.
Once the first Team members arrived in the area they were advised that the Team was no longer required. They were able to return home and the remainder of the Team was stood-down within 20-minutes of the first call.
Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.

Unfortunately due to the overnight rain with more forecast, today's event at Redcar Racing has been cancelled so we will not be there! Statement from the racecourse:
Unfortunately today’s Easter Monday race meeting has been abandoned.
We are bitterly disappointed that racing is not able to go ahead but there is little that can be done given the amount of recent rainfall this morning.
All pre-paid tickets will automatically be refunded, there is no need to contact the racecourse office.
