Incident 76 Search Yarm

Saturday 22nd Dec

The team were contacted at 08.55hrs by Cleveland Police this morning to assist with an ongoing search.
A 76 year old lady had been reported missing from her home in Eaglescliffe near Yarm last night after going out to post her Xmas cards.

The team responded by dispatching our mobile Control vehicle and a team Landrover Ambulance, along with our water rescue equipment.
Team members liaised at our RV near Yarm bridge with the police POLSA (Police search advisers) when the very welcome news came in that the lady had been found and was well. A fantastic outcome at any time, but perhaps especially so at this time of year.

We took the opportunity to show off our personal issue Swiftwater Rescue kit to the duty POLSA.

17 team members responded and the incident lasted approx 1hr 30min.

A good time to wish all our followers and supporters a very Merry Christmas and wish everyone a very happy and safe time.
Our Search and Rescue charity volunteers will remain on call as usual through the festive period, and will assisting Santa with his sleigh around Great Ayton tomorrow evening and all the brave Boxing Day ‘dippers’ at Redcar.
